Preparation, primers
These products are designed to be used when
it is you who is preparing the supports. For
oil painting, by nature highly penetrating,
the support must be prepared with a double
ground (sizing + primer) to prevent the oil
from oxidising the fabric.
- Skin glue (1 kg): Leave 1 kg of rabbit skin glue in 1 litre of water for 24 hours. Heat in a bain-marie, without boiling. Add 7 litres of water. Once the temperature has fallen to 35°, spread the size over the stretched canvas with a knife.
- Universal size (400 ml pot): Acrylic polymer emulsion (internal plastification), water-soluble, becoming insoluble when dry. It is much more supple than glue and is suitable for all techniques (oil, acrylics, etc.).
- Universal primer (400 ml pot): Composed of stable elements (polyacrylic and titanium white emulsion) combining great suppleness and waterproof qualities, exceptional mattness and whiteness, similar to the glue sizes used by primitive painters.
- Gesso (500ml, 1l and 2.5l pots): A more recent formulation than universal primer, more economical, with similar characteristics.
- Case Arti (750gr pots): Casein-based product for the simple preparation of an absorbent ground that can be sanded down. For rigid supports only. |
