Lithography
 

Litho drawing
Artist may use either litho crayons or oily litho ink which may be thinned as required and worked with a pen or with a brush. Corrections can be made with Lino Needles, Burin Scrapers or with special Correcting crayons made of compressed pumice stone.

 

- Pumice stone brick : befor it can be used for drawing upon, the stone needs to be carrefully polished with this pumice stone

 

- Gum arabic : 500 g or 1 kg bag

 

- Crayon tablet (5 x 6 cm) : crayon tablets are used for covering large flat areas but retain a pencil-like mark

 

 

Printing
Charbonnel proposes 3 types of black ink, each has a specific function : Litho Crayon black, Litho Drawing black and Litho Velvet black.
The varnishes are used to alter the consistency of the inks and thereby modify the final apparance of the work. 30 poise Weak Warnish will thin the inks and make them more transparent. 200 poise Strong Varnish is used for thickening the consistency.
